F- find their need – true need – uncover the root of the problem, no what they or you think what the problem is. Ask a genuine question with genuine concern, care and curiosity.
We are looking for X, so that we can achieve Y and success is going to be measured by Z
Why is it urgent? why is important? Is it alignment with their goals and priorities?
O – Outline their clear desires – What is success going to look like? how it will feel like? who else will it benefit?
C – contextualize the problem – put it in a context that they will understand – what did they tried and why it didn’t work?
U – Uncover the resources
S – State the problem.
Summarize the problem and ask them whether you got it right.
