1. Pinpointing a problem is 99% of the work and solution. 
  2. The golden triangle of comms – Audience, context and message. FOCUS
  3. F- find their need – true need – uncover the root of the problem, no what they or you think what the problem is. Ask a genuine question with genuine concern, care and curiosity. 
  4. We are looking for X, so that we can achieve Y and success is going to be measured by Z
  5. Why is it urgent? why is important? Is it alignment with their goals and priorities? 
  6. O – Outline their clear desires – What is success going to look like? how it will feel like? who else will it benefit? 
  7. C – contextualize the problem – put it in a context that they will understand – what did they tried and why it didn’t work? 
  8. U – Uncover the resources 
  9. S – State the problem. 
  10. Summarize the problem and ask them whether you got it right.
