Kick Starting your day

  1. No cellphones or laptops in the bedroom the night before.
  2. Buy an alarm clock.
  3. Create a morning routine.
  4. Do not leave your bedroom without brushing your teeth and a cold shower, it sets the tone for a productive day.
  5. Clothing is part of being productive, you feel fresher. PJs trick your brain into leisure mode.
  6. Include a visual cue to tackle the day ahead. (I have “Play like a champion today” on my door frame. It helps me get into a high-performance mode.)

Setting the right environment

1. Declutter your desk and environment.
2. Remove distractions.
3. Essential tools
– Standing desk, ergonomic chair, 28 inch 4K monitor, webcam
– Lights, speakers, microphone, desk pad, monitor riser, laptop riser
– Desk lamp, study lamp/screen bar, cable management system
– Whiteboard, footrest, and a plant
4. Mind your Background.

Being productive

  1. Instill discipline.
  2. Meditate.
  3. Transform mindset from “have to” to “get to”.
  4. Create routines. Put routines on autopilot.
  5. Set up work and personal goals for the day.
  6. Maintain to-do lists (The top three rows should list the most important tasks).
  7. Unschedule then schedule productively.
  8. Take small breaks.
  9. Follow the 20–20–20 rule.
  10. Boil down your communications.
  11. Practice digital minimalism.
  12. Manage energy, not time.
  13. Gamify boring tasks.
  14. Avoid multitasking.
  15. Avoid busy work.
  16. Avoid quick fixes.
  17. Remember perfect is the enemy of good.
  18. Instill new habits, break old ones, and follow habit stacking.
  19. The goal of setting up a productive system is to win back your time.
  20. Read.
